Most people hit rock bottom and look for a way back up. DJ Kadagian hit rock bottom and kept going—into the jungle, into the desert, and into questions most people spend a lifetime avoiding. Why? Simple: desperation.
Maybe it would make sense to set a goal of becoming a normal, well-adjusted human. After all he’s been through, that would be a battle on its own. But “normal” isn’t enough for him anymore. He’s shooting for enlightenment.
Everything in this story I’ll be telling you happened. How have I been able to see the point of it all, or at least survive it? By experiencing it all as a blend of the literal and metaphor - those magical words that can pierce our hearts when we’re not awake. Words I hope will help you understand my story too.
I imagine metaphor is the only thing that stands between sanity and madness for many of us—whether we know it or not. That’s certainly been the case for me.
